BBQ@home - the livestream grill event from Warema
Being close to customers at events is a real challenge with the security measures regarding Covid-19. Nevertheless, Warema did not want to miss its summer event with premium customers. Why not be able to realize this as an online event was the consideration of the marketing team of Warema. Live cooking and barbecuing is now well known from television and digital networking opens up new possibilities.
So the idea for BBQ@home was born. The concept and script for the online event was developed by Marion Fischer's marketing team under the project management of Regina Röthlein, marketing specialist for trade fairs and events at Warema.
Instead of gathering in one place, all participants received a large gift basket with essential ingredients for the recipes to grill along. At 7 pm the live stream started online on the specially programmed website, which could only be visited with a member log-in.
The grill masters were led by Chef de Cuisine Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke, also CEO of the Warema Group, three other colleagues from the board and management: Christian Steinberg as sous-chef, Alexander Grundhoff as grill master and Stephan Kliegl as entremetier. Already in the run-up to the event, everyone involved was looking forward and excited: How would this new, digital format be received by the business partners?
The inner courtyard on the campus of Warema Renkhoff SE in Marktheidenfeld, Bavaria, was perfectly prepared. With generous outdoor furniture and the European market leader's own sun protection products, three sets had been designed for an attractive shooting environment: cooking, talk and dining set. The company KECK, which had previously been commissioned for the perfect staging of Warema at the leading German trade fairs, was responsible for the realisation of the event including set design, rehearsal management, sequence direction, production management and organisation of the event technology with a professional camera crew and image mixer.
Accompanied by grill world champion Martin Rubner, the board and management prepared the dishes according to the prepared recipes. At the same time, current events were discussed in a relaxed round of talks and personal grilling preferences were discussed. The online guests participated actively via chat in the member area. Editorially selected customer contributions were discussed live. The high level of involvement resulted in a common barbecue experience for all participants.
Finally, a digital toast was made with the customers and they were invited to the table in beautiful weather. A great success that one would like to repeat, whereby Angelique Renkhoff-Mücke, Chairman of the Management Board, emphasized that she is already looking forward to meeting the business partners in person again in the future.
